On May 11th, volunteers arrived to Stowers Elementary School to find table groupings set up near the flag pole on the front lawn. Maroon tablecloths were off set with white magnolia blossoms surrounded with cedar greenery. Each table was adorn with a tea pot filled with fresh cut flowers. Soft acoustical guitar music filled the air, a massage therapist was ready to release shoulder stress, and a western selfie station was ready so guests could pose to show they "saddled up." Finger sandwiches, shrimp cocktail, seasonal fruits, a cheese tray, and various desserts accompanied the tea party theme of the evening.
Parents and PIE partner volunteers came dressed in finery for this elegant occasion. As Principal Parks mingled through the tables, she presented each volunteer a certificate of appreciation. Guests enjoyed music and massage, food, and companionship.
Stowers is fortunate to have so many volunteers throughout the year who will unselfishly give their time in the support of student learning. During the past year volunteers have read to students, assist with projects, made copies, and assisted in the classrooms. Thank you for all you do!
